Still hot and rocking - Bryan Adams live at the Point Depot Dublin

I arrived at the venue around 3 p.m. , excited, that there were barely 30 fans already queuing. By 5 p.m. the place got a bit busier and the guards started to put up the gates and searched all the waiting fans which wasn't the best idea, since there were only two guards, one searching approximately 20 males, and one, searching about 100 females. Needless to say that there was a lot of pushing and bitching going on as the dudes passed us without hassle and we all had to wait for ages to get into the gates. By the time they did open the gates loads of people were in line, but the atmosphere was still not nearly as stressful as at gigs in Germany or England. Organization sucked a bit, when we were let into the Point Depot - an old train depot - but weren't allowed to proceed to the stage because the supporting act was still doing its soundcheck. When we were finally allowed I was in such a hurry, I didn't even notice the b-stage sitting there in the middle of the venue. I made myself comfortable in the front row, a bit too much to the left for my liking, and waited for Darragh who had to work in the morning and drove all the way up from Limerick to meet up with me. He arrived just before the supporting act came on stage and brought loads of munchies, much to my delight.
The supporting act was called James Hunter who played something that could be described as old people's music. I wasn't too impressed by his performance, but then, blues is not my kind of music.
Bryan and the dudes started rocking with "There will never be another tonight" on the b-stage. It was so funny when the crowed all focusing on the main stage jumped around after hearing the first notes coming from the back. Next were "can't stop this thing" we started and "Please Forgive me". The dudes than made their way to the main stage for "best of me" while Bryan had some technical problems, apparently all microphones were turned off so he told the sound technicians to wake up and then walked through the audience, hugged the people in the front row and must have stumbled at one point, because the microphone fell to the ground and people started to laugh. Back, safe on stage, they rocked on with "Somebody" and "Kids wanna rock". He wasn't very talkative all night long and did look a bit tired. The action on stage was not as usual and the crowd was quieter than e.g. what I have seen in Italy.
Instead of his usual boots he'd chosen to wear Adidas sneakers whose laces opened during the show and he excused himself for a moment to tie them. He then played "Let's make a night to remember", 'Open Road", "18 Til I die" which really rocked, "Back to you", "I think about you", and then "summer of 69" during which the audience finally woke up. Keith gave his best on the Spanish guitar during "Have you ever really loved a woman?", next was "Everything I do" and "Cut's like a knife" where he wasn't at all satisfied with the "nanana" singing.
The "When your gone" girl was one of the best I have seen so far though. Michelle from Wicklow was all jumpy and quircky on stage, admitted instantly that she couldn't sing but that she knew the lyrics and did a very good job. Bryan and the dudes had some great laughs with her. When they weren't singing she danced, slapped Bryans butt and didn't act shy at all.
"It's only love" once again featured a terrific Keith Scott on the guitars, man, that dude can play and was slightly different than the last time I've heard it life, "heaven" was once again a beautiful accoustic version, "the only thing that looks good on me" great fun. Next was "Cloud #9" and then "Run to you" where BA missed his cue twice. He then asked if we didn't want to go home and joked that he too, might go for a drink later on.
The dudes then vanished off the stage and reappeared on the b-stage for an AC/DC cover called "There's gonna be some rocking", the fabulous "7 nights to rock", "I got a woman" and "She's only happy when she's dancing" where all of them asked girls, and I think I saw a guy as well, to come up and people almost fell off stage. The girls closed in on Bryan and Keith and they had to fend them off, one was rudely pushed away by BA when she tried to kiss him. People already started to leave when BA reappeared for the final encores "Straight from the heart" and a short version of "All for love" on the main stage.
Great concert, althogh not one of his best and the irish audience was fantastic in the end.
I'll put a couple of videos on youtube, but the sound quality was really bad at the concert, so it will only be the slow songs.
