Bangkok

I finally haved arrived in Bangkok, second nicest city in Thailand, only have been to two so far. It is unbearably hot, but getting here was great. The plane was an Emirates Jumbo and I was in the middle seat squashed between a French man with really bad dandruff and a Brit who snored so loud, I couldn't really enjoy my inflight entertainment, 500 programs and I could only hear my neighbors nasal concerts. Arrival was again, prior to scheduled time and we were greated by a very sweet picture of the Thai king HRH Bumipol. Immigration was a piece of cake though I was a bit scared that they had changed immigration rules for EU-citizens and that I therefore needed a visa. The first problem I encountered was the ATM that did give me money but wouldn't return my card. Scary. And as it was all in Thai I couldn't understand what it told me. A taxi driver tried to help me with the bank assistant who couldn't speak a word of English. While I was in the bank my the atm finally decided to release my card, lucky me that a trustworthy Thai was just standing in front of the atm handing it straight back to me.
So now I'm at my beloved Shanti Lodge, writing with a very crappy keyboard, in Thai, naturally, on a very slow computer with loads of German tourists making a lot of noise and fuss around me, but I'm well fed, had a great shower in the orchid decorated bathroom and will hit the hay in minute, since I've got to get a taxi at 5:30 tomorrow morning.
Pictures will follow soon.
